Terms of Service

By using Plata you agree to these terms. We provide a budget app and AI assistant; we don't provide regulated financial advice. Pay your subscription on time, don't abuse the service, and we'll keep delivering. Either of us can end the agreement at any time.

You must be 18 or older. By signing up you confirm the information you provide is accurate and the payment method belongs to you.

• You're responsible for keeping your password secure.
• You're responsible for any activity under your account.
• If you suspect unauthorized access, change your password and email us.
• One person per account. No sharing logins (use the shared-budget feature for couples and families).

Plata is a personal finance budgeting tool with an AI assistant. It is nota registered investment advisor, accountant, or tax professional. The AI's suggestions are guidance, not regulated financial advice. Decisions about your money are yours.

We do our best to keep forecasts and categorizations accurate, but we don't guarantee they're correct. Always verify critical numbers against your actual bank statements.

• 14-day free trial. Full access. No credit card required up front.
• Plata Pro is $3.99/month or $39.99/year (billed in advance).
• Cancel anytime from Settings → Billing. You keep access through the end of your paid period.
• Refunds. Annual plans are refundable within 30 days of payment, prorated. Monthly plans are non-refundable but you can cancel before the next billing date.
• Price changes apply only to future billing cycles and require 30 days' email notice.

You agree not to:

• Use Plata to launder money, commit fraud, or evade taxes.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy any part of the app.
• Submit malicious content, spam, or attempt to break our infrastructure.
• Resell, sublicense, or use Plata for someone else's commercial product.
• Use the AI assistant to harass others or generate content that violates Anthropic's usage policies.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these rules. We'll refund any unused paid period unless the violation involves fraud.

You own your data. We process it under the Privacy Policy. You can export everything as CSV/JSON or delete your account from Settings at any time.

Plata's name, logo, code, copy, design, and AI prompts are ours. Your data and any content you create is yours — we just need a non-exclusive license to display it back to you while you use the app.

We aim for 99.9% uptime but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance is announced in advance via email. Unplanned outages are reported in real time on our status page.

Plata is provided "as is." To the maximum extent allowed by law, Plata, its founders and team disclaim all warranties (express, implied, statutory) including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Our total liability for any claim related to Plata is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.

You can cancel any time. We can terminate your account if you violate these terms or stop paying, after giving you a chance to fix the issue. On termination, you have 30 days to export your data before we permanently delete it.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida — except where local consumer-protection law requires a different forum.

We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be emailed to you and posted on the site with at least 30 days' notice before they apply.
